Michael's Sonic Kaleidoscope 28

This week's show is dedicated to one of the most influential and "progressive" composers in modern music: Dave Brubeck, who celebrated this Monday his 90th birthday and still is active in the musical scene.

Brubeck pioneered and inovated in many areas, including: improvisation, introducing classical sensitivities in jazz, the use of unusual time signatures and superimposing contrasting rhythms, meters, and tonalities; all these are elements that can be observed oftenly in Progressive Rock, making his direct or indirect influence on the genre quite obvious.

Happy birthday Dave!

I hope all of you enjoyed this special dedicated to this legend's huge influence in Prog Rock.
