Hey Tim and the others!

That's Simon, the French dude again. (good to have a forum)

As you already know(for the guys who used to chat with me), I'm a big fan of Symphony X. And this is why I love this show : Stainless Steel Prog. Just because we share the passion of bands like SymX and Dream Theater, for instance.

It would be just great to hear some talented bands like Opeth or Meshuggah more, in that show, since it's metal-oriented.

Keep on doing that show, it's great :)

Simon

I second the Opeth suggestion, though I'm not a big fan of Meshuggah.

mmmm in this case there could be a show for death-prog metal.. is not the usual stuff a little bit heavy but got a lot of good things... and the meshuggah guy.. the guitar player has a proyect that is a little bit prog....

I agree! More Opeth would be awesome, but I have never heard of Messhuggah...

I wouldn't go so far as to say they're definitely not prog. They certainly use a lot of insane time signatures, and are very rhythmically complex.

exactly what is Prog if not going insane in some musical aspects ?

Definitely need to hear some Opeth. I've never heard a radio station play them and they definitely belong here. Symphony X, Dream Theater, Arjen Lucassen (Ayreon), Threshold, Into Eternity, and Devin Townsend are welcome as well. The metal vein of progressive rock should be showcased more often and this, I think, is the place to do it.

Rock On!!! \m/
