Requests and messages

The text here will also show up on the front page. Use this to make a request (replacing the old message board) or to send a message to the DJ. Note that the current DJ might not always be watching for requests.

MONO > STEREO

Postby musics » Tue Aug 22, 2017 12:04 pm

Guys, don't you realize that you send in Mono, resp. that only one channel (left or right) is coming thru both channels? Check it with ELPs 'Karn Evil 9, 3rd Impression' of the album 'Brain Salad Surgery': the very end sequence (speeding up synthesizer) is normally floating from left to right - on your air it's in the middle an nearly disappearing when it goes to the other channel (you're not broadcasting)...

musics is right, I hear it every time when the instruments are spreaded in the stereo range. I wrote them several emails, but or they don't care, or they don't know how to handle it. It's a simple thing of correct connection of the audio lines.

The low-bitrate stream is mono. The high-bitrate stream is stereo, with proper left/right separation. I tested using Karn Pt. 3, and it does move from speaker to speaker.

There's a link on the left side of the page that says "Problems listening?" Try that.

For REAL prog- & symphonic rock from Gino Vannelli, check his 'War Suite': https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=54eOj_DNNpc - it's tremendous...!!!

GINO VANNELLI

Postby ProgFanBelgium » Mon Sep 11, 2017 7:49 am

Thanks for the link, musics - I didn't know that Gino Vannelli did such epic progrock stuff. The keyboard and drum work, and mix between rock, latin and prog is outrageous!!

Check this one, my friend - it's an orgy of synths and drums: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Khyw43Ch7Bk. The other 3 movements of this work are pure symphonic orchestra...! You won't get enough...
